General Font Usage Terms
These are the overarching font usage terms applicable to all fonts available on Deefont. The primary objective is to safeguard the intellectual property rights of font authors to the greatest extent possible. At the same time, we aim to provide authors with the flexibility to supplement or modify these terms as they see fit, particularly by including additional details in a readme.txt file.
It’s important to note that some font authors may not furnish comprehensive information in their individual terms. Therefore, these general terms encompass the essential elements, offering a protective framework for intellectual property rights that might otherwise be overlooked.
We encourage font authors to take advantage of the flexibility provided by including specific terms in their readme.txt files. This ensures that users have access to detailed information tailored to each font’s unique characteristics.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in promoting a fair and respectful environment for font usage on Deefont.
Copyright
All fonts available on Deefont are the intellectual property of their respective authors, unless they are in the public domain. The fonts are provided under the condition that they are original works.
Personal Use
All fonts are available for free download and use for personal purposes, with the exception that the usage is neither racist nor illegal. Fonts designated for personal use are intended for projects unrelated to business or monetary gain. This encompasses personal art, gifts, charity, student work, and other non-commercial projects.
Please adhere to these guidelines to ensure the appropriate use of fonts for personal endeavors. Thank you for respecting these terms.
Commercial Use
For commercial use of a font, please refer to the font’s zip file for a readme.txt, license.pdf, or an equivalent file containing licensing information. If no information is provided, commercial use is not allowed without prior written permission from the respective author. In such cases, please contact the author to inquire about commercial licensing.
Commercial use encompasses various business applications, including:
- ·Creating branding elements, including logos for you or your clients.
- ·Producing design works and rasterized images for web use.
- ·Crafting artwork for clothing, packaging, posters, or similar commercial products, for sale or promotional use (up to 25,000 units).
For large volume projects (exceeding 25,000 units/reproductions), broadcast usage, embedding in apps or websites, additional licensing may be required unless specified otherwise in corresponding custom terms by the respective author.
Fonts in the public domain may be freely used for commercial purposes.
SIL Open Font License (OFL)
The SIL Open Font License is a free software license that allows fonts covered by this license to be freely used, modified, and distributed, provided that derivatives remain under the same license. Fonts under the SIL OFL can be used in commercial promotions and products. However, the fonts cannot be sold on their own; they can be embedded in programs.
For more information and details about the SIL Open Font License, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions section.
Modification
Fonts may not be modified, altered, adapted, translated, decompiled, disassembled, or used to create derivative works unless explicitly stated otherwise in corresponding custom terms by the respective author. Custom terms can be found within the font zip-file in a readme.txt, license.pdf, or an equivalent file. This restriction does not apply to fonts in the public domain, which may be freely modified.
Distribution
While fonts can be freely copied and shared with other individuals for private use, they may not be sold, redistributed, or published unless otherwise specified in corresponding custom terms by the respective author or if the font is in the public domain.
Further Terms
Additional custom terms set by the respective author of a font may apply and should be located within the font zip-file in a readme.txt, license.pdf, or an equivalent file.
Disclaimer
