Font Introduction

Pretender Font
Pretender Font is a narrow Art Deco headline font that draws its inspiration from the sheet music cover of an early 20th Century waltz ballad, Mexicali Rose. This versatile typeface features 390 defined characters and 254 unique glyphs, supporting multiple unicode character ranges. Designed by Ray Larabie of Typodermic Fonts, Pretender combines sleek geometric shapes with a confident and assertive presence. Its clean lines and consistent weight create a sense of stability and readability, making it ideal for posters, web graphics, game graphics, t-shirts, videos, signs, and logos. The font’s modern interpretation of Art Deco aesthetics brings a sophisticated touch to any design project while maintaining excellent legibility.
