Font Introduction

Caslon Antique Font Family
Caslon Antique, designed in 1894 by Berne Nadall, is a decorative American typeface originally named “Fifteenth Century”. Later, Barnhart Bros. & Spindler renamed it “Caslon Antique” in the mid-1920s. The font evokes a Colonial-era feel, replicating the worn look of repeatedly reused metal type from early printers. It is often used to create an old-fashioned or gothic appearance. An italic version is available, and Corel offers a variant called “Casablanca Antique”. Caslon Antique has been used in various media, including films, album covers, and logos, such as the musical Les Misérables.
