Germanica Family Font Family
Germanica Family Font Family is a classic blackletter typeface designed by Paul Lloyd that includes four distinctive variations: Plain, Fluted, Shadowed, and Embossed. This medieval-style font draws inspiration from early German printing, specifically the textura quadrata style used by pioneering printers Fust and Schöffer in 1457. The capital letters are based on Gutenberg’s first typeface from around 1455, featuring bold, angular forms with sharp serifs and decorative elements. The font family exhibits intricate detailing and ornate design throughout its characters, making it particularly suitable for historical documents, luxury branding, certificates, and projects requiring a vintage or medieval aesthetic. It supports 12 languages and includes various ligatures and scribal abbreviations.
