Iron Maiden Font

The Iron Maiden font, known as Metal Lord, is an iconic typographic emblem synonymous with the legendary British heavy metal band. Designed in 1977 by Dennis Wilcocks and refined by Ray Hollingsworth, its sharp, angular letterforms—featuring elongated diagonal tails on characters like “R,” “N,” and “M”—embody the raw energy of metal music. Digitized by Ray Larabie in 1996, the font replicates the band’s logo seen on albums, merchandise, and pop culture references like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. A hollow variant and other styles, such as Balmoral for Dance of Death, have been used selectively, but Metal Lord remains the definitive choice.
