Phudu Font Family
Phudu Font is a contemporary display sans-serif typeface inspired by Vietnamese hand-lettering billboards from bygone eras. Designed by Duong Tran, this open-source font family features five weights from Light to Black, with a unique characteristic where lighter weights become more extended for enhanced readability. The name “Phudu” means “revival” in Vietnamese, ironically contrasting with its alternate reading “phù du” (ephemeral). Supporting 192 languages with special diacritical marks, Phudu blends cutting-edge details with traditional elements, making it ideal for headlines and display purposes. Its design philosophy marries modern aesthetics with authentic Vietnamese typographic heritage, offering designers a versatile tool for impactful visual communication.
