Redaction Font Family
Redaction Font Family is a bespoke serif typeface created by Titus Kaphar and Reginald Dwayne Betts for The Redaction exhibition at MoMA PS1. Designed by Jeremy Mickel with creative direction from Forest Young, this font draws inspiration from legal documents, blending the authoritative aesthetics of Times New Roman and Century Schoolbook. Featuring sharp contrasts and subtle degradations, it symbolizes the complexities of the justice system and the redaction process. Available in three styles—Regular, Italic, and Bold—and seven grades of degradation, Redaction is both functional and conceptual, serving as a powerful tool for creative expression and social justice advocacy.
