Wolgadeutsche Font
The Wolgadeutsche font draws inspiration from the official logo of the Local History Museum of Max in the Saratov region and embodies a new style design concept. It pays tribute to the story of the Volga Germans, reflecting the historical context of German colonial life from the 18th to the mid-20th century.
Given the widespread use of various Gothic fonts in documents during that era, choosing this font as a historical reference is particularly fitting. The design process of the Wolgadeutsche font is meticulous, with most glyph sketches drawn by hand and then digitized, ensuring it possesses both historical charm and a modern feel.
In designing this typeface, we faced the challenge of maintaining Gothic tradition while ensuring high decorative value and readability. Through careful design and adjustments, we successfully completed this task, resulting in the creation of the Wolgadeutsche font—a powerful medium for narrating the story of the Volga Germans.
